Halloween Events in Malta: Kids and Teens

Here are some activities that kids, teens and young adults can enjoy during Halloween.  Many of the events listed are not limited to October 31st.  As schools close for the mid-term break around this time.  As a result, some activities extend into the first days of November.

Please note that most events have limited capacity.  So it’s advisable to book in advance to secure your spot and avoid disappointment.

Żabbar Halloween Lantern Festival

This much-loved event has become a staple in the local calendar!  Held in the Biċċieni Alleys and surrounding area of Żabbar.  The festival offers fun for the entire family.

In 2024, the Żabbar Halloween Lantern Festival will be held on November 2nd.  Kicking off at 6 pm and continuing until midnight.  Entry to the event is free of charge.

Children will have a blast trick-or-treating and enjoying live shows.  Other fun activities like bouncy castles and trampolines are sure to keep them entertained.  Young adults can join the Halloween costume street party.  Complete with live DJ performances.  

Stroll through the alleys to admire the special street lantern displays and exhibitions.  Be sure to check out the Jack-O’-Lantern competition, and don’t miss the variety of food and sweet stalls.  For a spooky souvenir, stop by the creepy photo booth for a fun and memorable snapshot!

Żurrieq Halloween in aid of Puttinu Cares

Another well-known Halloween event takes place in Żurrieq.  Around 16th July and Fra Ġammari Zammit streets.  This event is designed for children and young adults.

In 2024, the festival will be held on Thursday, October 31st, starting at 5 pm.  A €2 donation per person is required for entry.  With all proceeds going to a charitable organisation.

Activities for kids include trick-or-treating and special Halloween-themed games.  While visitors can also explore a variety of food stalls throughout the event.

Ta’ Lazzru Farm

This year, carve your pumpkin at Ta’ Lazzru Farm and join the family fun with two hours of festive activities!  Pumpkin carving sessions will be held on October 27th and November 3rd.  You can choose between the morning or afternoon session.  The morning session is from 10 am to 12 pm.  The afternoon session from 1 pm to 3 pm.  Please note that there is an entry fee.

But the event is not only about carving and painting pumpkins!  Children can enjoy more activities.  Such as a pumpkin scavenger hunt and a visit to the balloon station.  They can also please their sweet tooth at the candy station.  Don’t forget to stop by the spooky scarecrow photo booth to capture your scariest moments.

While the kids have fun, parents can unwind at the refreshments area.

Girgenti Farm

Join the fun with pumpkin carving and a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt at the farm!  This two-hour event offers both activities, ensuring plenty of entertainment for all.  Pre-booking against a fee is essential to secure your spot.

In 2024, the event will be held on Sunday, October 27th.  With two sessions available: a morning session from 10 am to 12 pm. and an afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Halloween Pumpkin

Planet Play Mini Monster Weekend

For the first time ever, join the fun at Planet Play, Mercury, this spooky season!  Dress up and take part in Halloween festivities.  Spread over two days, on November 2nd and 3rd, from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Each session will last for two hours.

Children can enjoy a variety of activities.  Including a creepy crafts corner and a monster puppet show.  They can also take part in Halloween-themed games and spend 30 minutes at Playtopia.  Each child will receive a kids’ meal and a drink as part of the fun!

It is important to buy tickets in advance.

Playmobil FunPark

Halloween at the Playmobil Fun Park is always a memorable event.  Children are invited to join the fun on October 31st, from 5 pm to 9 pm.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Kids can take part in Halloween-themed games.  Create spooky crafts, and enjoy trick-or-treating around the park.  A raffle will also take place, and every child attending will receive a Playmobil gift.

As part of the event, children can choose a delicious meal.  Chicken nuggets and chips, pizza, or pasta—along with water or juice.  Attendees will also enjoy a 10% discount at the toy shop.

Popeye’s Village

Halloween celebrations for 2024 at Popeye’s Haunted Village will take place from October 30th to November 6th.  Running daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Explore the spooky village and keep an eye out for ghostly shadows!  Events in the village will include trick-or-treating and face painting.  Along with Halloween-themed dances, puppet shows and a festive parade.

Children aged 3 to 9 can enjoy the indoor play area, which is free for the first 30 minutes.  All kids will also have access to the mini-golf and obstacle course on-site.  As a special thank you for attending, everyone will receive free popcorn!

Malta International Airport

Take part in a thrilling Ghost Hunt trick-or-treating event.  At the airport on Friday, November 1st.  With 30-minute time slots available between 4 pm and 6 pm.  Tickets must be purchased in advance for €5.

Join the Halloween Kid’s Club for a fun-filled programme of activities.  Each child will receive a ghost hunt map.  They will have 30 minutes to explore the airport’s outlets in search of hidden ghosts.  The reward for finding them? Candy!

Children participating in the event will also receive a €5 shopping voucher.  Along with a special free gift.

Esplora Interactive Science Center

Each year, on this special day, the centre transforms into a spooky, spine-chilling venue where science meets mystery!  Children will encounter a range of attractions and workshops.  Especially designed for the event.

This year, the event spans four days, from October 31st to November 3rd.  It will feature Halloween shows inspired by Malta’s haunted history.  Allowing visitors to explore the island’s nightmarish tales and folklore.  Through engaging STEM activities.

Halloween Scavenger Hunt in Valletta
